Heat Treatment:
- Normalizing: Heating to 850–900°C followed by air cooling, used to refine grain structure.
- Quenching: Heated to 870–920°C and quenched in oil or water, enhancing strength and hardness.
- Tempering: Performed at 200–350°C after quenching to relieve stresses and improve toughness.
- Case Hardening: Often applied to enhance surface wear resistance while maintaining a tough core.
Applications:
- Automotive Industry: Axles, gears, and crankshafts requiring wear resistance and durability.
- Aerospace Industry: High-strength components subject to dynamic loading.
- Heavy Machinery: Components such as shafts, bolts, and springs in demanding environments.
- Oil and Gas: Drill rods, pipelines, and other parts exposed to mechanical stress and wear.
- Military Applications: High-strength components for armored vehicles and weaponry.
Corrosion Resistance
30KHGSA exhibits moderate corrosion resistance in atmospheric conditions. For improved corrosion protection, it is often coated or treated with anti-corrosion layers such as galvanization or painting.
