Heat Treatment:
- Solution Treated: 900 deg C (1650 deg F), air cooled
- Aging Conditions: H900 to H1150 (aging temperatures between 900 deg F and 1150 deg F)
- Aging results in various strength/toughness combinations.
Applications:
- Aerospace structural components
- Marine fittings
- Valves and shafts
- Power generation equipment
- Surgical instruments
- High-strength bolts and fasteners
Corrosion Resistance
Comparable to Type 304 Stainless Steel. Good resistance to atmospheric corrosion, mild chemicals, and marine environments. Not recommended for use in highly aggressive acidic or chloride environments without additional testing.
