Alloy F55 (UNS S32760) - Super Duplex Stainless Steel
Alloy F55, also known as UNS S32760, is a super duplex stainless steel designed for superior corrosion resistance and exceptional mechanical strength. It is particularly effective in highly aggressive environments, such as those containing chlorides, sulfur compounds, and other corrosive agents. With its balanced duplex microstructure, it provides excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking.
Features of Alloy F55:
- Superior Corrosion Resistance: Excellent in seawater, acidic, and chloride-containing environments.
- High Strength: Twice the yield strength of standard austenitic stainless steels.
- Stress Corrosion Cracking Resistance: Exceptional performance in chloride-rich and acidic conditions.
- Good Weldability: Suitable for welding without post-weld heat treatment.
- Erosion-Corrosion Resistance: Outstanding resistance to mechanical and chemical wear in harsh environments.
