MP35N - High Strength, Corrosion-Resistant Alloy
MP35N is a high-performance, nickel-cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloy that offers outstanding mechanical properties, excellent resistance to corrosion, and high strength, particularly at elevated temperatures. Known for its exceptional fatigue and stress-corrosion cracking resistance, MP35N is ideal for demanding applications in industries such as aerospace, medical, and chemical processing. This alloy combines the strength of a superalloy with the resistance of corrosion-resistant materials, making it versatile and highly reliable in harsh environments.
MP35N is typically used in applications requiring exceptional strength-to-weight ratios, fatigue resistance, and resistance to corrosive environments such as seawater, acids, and alkaline solutions.
Features of MP35N:
- High Strength: Outstanding tensile strength (up to 280,000 psi) and yield strength, even at elevated temperatures.
- Excellent Corrosion Resistance: Superior resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress-corrosion cracking, particularly in saline and acidic environments.
- Outstanding Fatigue Resistance: Exceptional performance in applications subjected to cyclic stress and high fatigue environments.
- Non-magnetic: Ideal for use in magnetic-sensitive applications such as medical devices or aerospace components.
- Excellent Weldability: Can be welded easily, with good post-weld strength and corrosion resistance.
- Heat and Oxidation Resistance: Maintains strength at temperatures up to 1000°F (538°C) and resists oxidation in high-temperature applications.
