Product Description:
Custom 450 is a martensitic stainless steel alloy developed for applications that require a combination of high strength, excellent hardness, and good corrosion resistance. It is a high-performance, heat-treated alloy specifically designed for high-strength, corrosion-resistant parts in a wide variety of industrial, aerospace, and automotive applications. Custom 450 offers improved properties over standard 400 series stainless steels, particularly in terms of corrosion resistance and toughness.
Unlike other martensitic stainless steels, which tend to be more brittle, Custom 450 provides an optimal balance of strength and toughness. Its ability to be hardened by heat treatment makes it suitable for use in demanding applications that require superior strength and wear resistance.
Features:
- High Strength: Custom 450 can achieve high tensile and yield strengths (up to 2000 MPa) after heat treatment, making it ideal for heavy-duty applications.
- Good Corrosion Resistance: It offers superior resistance to corrosion compared to other martensitic steels, particularly in mildly corrosive environments, making it suitable for industrial applications.
- Wear Resistance: The alloy's hardness and wear resistance are enhanced by its high chromium content, making it suitable for components subjected to abrasion or friction.
- Good Toughness: Custom 450 exhibits excellent toughness and fatigue resistance, even at high strength levels, which is a critical requirement for aerospace and industrial components.
- Magnetic Properties: As a martensitic stainless steel, Custom 450 is magnetic, which can be beneficial in certain applications, such as those involving magnetic field components or sensors.
- Heat Treatable: Custom 450 can be hardened and tempered, allowing it to be tailored to meet specific mechanical property requirements for a wide range of applications.
Specifications:
