Nitronic 60 - Toughened Stainless Steel
Nitronic 60 is a stainless steel that is toughened by nitrogen with exceptional strength and resistance to wear and galling. Compared to 316 and 304, pitting resistance and corrosion resistance is better. In terms of cost solution to wear and galling issues, Nitronic 60 is much lower. It is different from austenitic stainless steel, manganese and silicon. It also has good high temperature oxidation resistance. If you’re looking for Nitronic 60 suppliers and Nitronic 60 manufacturers, Supreme Engineering Limited is a good choice.
It contains manganese and silicon. It also has good temperature yield strength and good low temperature impact resistance. With the addition of silicon and manganese, there is a matrix to hinder galling, wear and fretting in the annealed state. It can also attain higher strengths via cold working the material while being completely austenitic post severe cold-working.
Features of Nitronic 60:
- Has better corrosion resistance than 304 stainless.
- Yield strength is much better.
- Great chloride pitting resistance
- Provides exceptional high temperature oxidation resistance.
Specifications:
The various forms of Nitronic 60 are covered by the following standards:
- ASTM A479.
- ASTM A276 and ASTM A182.
