Hastelloy C22 - A Versatile Alloy
Hastelloy C22 is also called alloy C22, and happens to be a versatile austenitic nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten alloy with improved resistance to stress corrosion cracking, pitting and crevice corrosion. Its high chromium content offers good resistance to oxidizing media while the tungsten and molybdenum content provide good resistance to decreasing media. This is a nickel steel alloy that also boasts of profound resistance to oxidizing aqueous media that includes wet chlorine and mixtures that consist of nitric acid or oxidizing acids with chlorine ions. Hastelloy C22 also has resistance to corrosives like oxidizing acid chlorides, formic and acetic acids, wet chlorine, cupric and ferric chlorides, brine, sea water and other mixed or contaminated solutions.
